“Perch beyond 40 cm are more difficult to catch than metre-long pike”
Matze is in the habit of saying. Therefore one must tackle them with
perfectly adapted gear, in order to be able to present small bait entic-
ingly. At the same time an extremely sensitive action is needed, because
pike-perch anglers know only too well that hooked perch tend to flee
shortly before they are landed. This rod with its wonderfully soft upper
section takes this circumstance into account. This certainly doesn’t
mean it is a lamb’s tail; if a pike-perch or pike happens to pick up the
hook the progressive action ensures that the lower section of the rod
takes over the work, while the upper section springs at lightning speed.
The brand new filigree guides make the lightweight rod even nicer to
handle and the angler can fish for big shy perch for hours.
In the rubber sector this ultrasensitive perch rod is used only for the
very smallest rubber baits. Their main sector is the Mini wobbler and
the spinner. Bait which doesn’t require excessive elasticity in the blank
and which is so soft that no perch will opt out any more. The rod con-
tinues to spring very gently, but - thanks to the fast IM 12 carbon fibre
– it still never “wobbles” and is very accommodating to the sensitive,
porous mouths of perch. Of course it is also super trout rod.
Matze Koch’s pike-perch, pike and perch whips have become a standard
term and meet with amazing reactions. Nevertheless, Matze is convinced
that improvement is always possible. Artificial bait rods must be fast and
light; they must also react rigidly to the strike. The secret behind the new
“whips” is carbon nano-tubes (CNT). Those are microscopically small, tu-
bular carbon formations. These give the blanks fantastic actions, making
them extremely strong, even faster and feather-light. The carbon-tape coils
not only look great; they also reinforce the blank.
The Vector angular guides with the filigree inserts made of 6 times harde-
ned stainless steel are ideal for braided lines. Splitting inserts is finally a
thing of the past! They can ALSO no longer fall out and they reduce the
weight more. Correspondingly, the rod’s action is less impaired. Splintered
guide inserts after a rough encounter with the stone packing are history.
However, the Nano-whip series is not limited to spin rods. In the telesco-
pic field unforeseen opportunities also present themselves because we
have been able to construct one of the longest bait-fish rods ever to have
been available on the German market: the MK XXL Pike Stand measuring
- believing or not - 9 m in length.

There is hardly any species of fish that requires as much sensitivity and
such small baits paired with extremely sensitive bait guidance as a
trout. Irrespective of whether you are by a stream or a trout pond, you
will be extremely enthusiastic about these, the lightest and most sensi-
tive little rod from the MK series.
